NYFW 2016 Recap: Street Style

It's that time of the year again... Fashion Week! This time, FORM is bringing a little twist by highlighting street style rather than runway looks. Here are some looks, inspired by runway trends, that you can incorporate into your wardrobe this fall. Read more to see which street style looks we love!

1. 90's Vibes

Seen on models Bella Hadid and Taylor Hill, the 90's are clearly coming back in style. The all-denim getup, the high-waisted green trousers and retro tee, and the on-chain purses all put a modern spin on the classic 90's look. Recreate this style with your own pieces by putting together a denim-on-denim outfit or throwing on a vintage T-shirt and some high-waisted jeans, then you're good to go!

2. Flowy Fashion

Flowy pieces are another huge trend, as evidenced in this year's street style. Despite the loose material, these outfits look chic when paired with accessories such as printed flats, a clutch purse, and statement earrings. The outfit featured above specifically captures a look that is flowy yet still sexy, featuring a high-cut slit on the hem and a plunging v-neck design.

3. Comfy-Casual

The weather is cooling down, and being comfortable is a college student's number one priority. These street style looks can be effortlessly recreated with a hoodie and ripped jeans, or shorts and some simple T-shirt dresses, paired with sneakers for a casual yet cute style. Not only are these outfits easy to put together, but they are also super comfy for a day full of going to classes and studying. As these fashionistas prove, it is definitely possible to look fashionable during midterm season!

4. Shape-It-Out

Fashion week also featured some interesting shapes, including the envelope cut shown above. On the left is an envelope-cut long-sleeved shirt, and the right pictures some envelope-cut midi skirts. Both looks are extremely interesting and are a perfect way to shake things up this fall, adding texture and character to your everyday outfit!

5. Different Textures

Last, but not least, blending different textures has made its debut on the streets of New York. The fashionista above matches a cotton/polyester button-up blouse with a leather skirt and printed booties.  This look not only mixes different textures together, but also mixes styles, showing the contrast between the more casual, understated shirt and the bolder, louder skirt and shoe choices–but hey, we love it!

And there you have it!
