FORM: Rutgers Fashion Organization of Retail and Marketing: Keeping Warm This Winter: Clothes

As the weather gets colder and colder, FORM is here to make sure you can adjust in style. Throughout the rest of the semester, FORM will be updating the blog with essentials for our newest series, "Keeping Warm This Winter," including clothes, accessories, makeup, hair items, etc. Without further ado, here are some winter wardrobe essentials that we thought were worth mentioning!

1. Skinny Jeans

Skinny jeans are absolutely perfect for winter with their versatile shape and color. In various different styles, skinny jeans are the perfect pair of pants to layer with in the cold weather. Whether you choose to layer with a chunky turtleneck sweater or a leather jacket, with booties or high boots, skinny jeans can make any outfit flawless while keeping warm.

2. Turtlenecks

Turtlenecks have been making their way back into the latest winter trends and we are loving it! They are perfect to tuck into some high waisted jeans and perfect to wear underneath a lighter jacket–with the turleneck peeking out the top. Similar to skinny jeans, these are an amazing layering piece and are super easy to incorporate into any closet.

3. Over-The-Knee Boots

Over-the-knee boots offer so many different outfits while still keeping your legs warm this winter. You can get away with wearing cute dresses and skirts if you pair them with some over-the-knee boots and you can be assured that you won't get cold! They go so well with the classic skinny jean and are absolutely adorable with chunky knit sweater dresses since the boot adds a tighter, structured feel.

4. Enormous Scarf

Big scarves can add that little "oomph" to any outfit. Available in an array of colors, sizes and fabrics, they are sure to go with any getup you choose. Another essential layering piece, they add a chic sense of texture to an otherwise basic outfit.

5. Statement Jacket

Two words: Statement. Jackets. These are essential for the winter, not only because it can get freezing, but because they really tie any outfit together. One of our personal favorites for the winter is the classic peacoat, which adds warmth and structure to whatever outfit you choose to wear underneath. Peacoats come short or long, giving you more than enough options to choose from this winter!
