Following our first post from this series, FORM is bringing to you the next edition of "Keeping Warm This Winter" but this time, the accessories edition. Of course, the weather can take a toll on our wardrobes, but winter styling is not all about clothes so keep reading to check out some winter accessories that we believe can bear the cold!
1. Beanies and Headbands
Keeping your head and ears warm is vital during the winter months, which is why beanies and headbands are the perfect accessory to add onto any look. Beanies come in all shapes, sizes and colors to accommodate the exact look you're aiming for. They also make an outfit instantly look more put-together without even trying. Headbands, although slightly less popular, are underrated since they fit nice and snug around your ears while also putting a feminine twist on the average winter headgear.
2. Over-The-Knee Socks
Over-the-knee boots are a staple in a winter wardrobe, but what are over-the-knee boots without some socks to go with them? These high socks are a must during the winter to make sure your legs and feet stay cozy no matter what pants or shoes you are wearing. The images above display a variety of options for over-the-knee socks to try depending on the exact weather, one of our personal favorites is the high socks paired with Hunter boots–perfect for trudging through the snow.
3. Faux Fur
Faux fur is the new black and faux fur comes in, well, everything. From jackets to shawls, the faux fur outerwear adds a layer of warmth and texture to any outfit this winter. Available in a wide array of colors, textures, shapes and styles, you can't go wrong with adding some faux fur accessories to your closet! Besides the chic vibe that they give off, they also provide extreme warmth during the chillier season.
4. Gloves and Mittens
Going out and about in the winter is no fun when your hands are cold. Gloves and mittens are definitely an essential accessory to pair along with any winter outfit. These also come in all different styles and colors: leather, nylon, wool, you name it. They are perfect to accent a winter coat or beanie as pictured above, and some even come with e-tips so you can use your touch screen phone without worrying about your fingers getting frozen.
5. Tights and Stockings
Although it is not uncommon to find your average girl walking around in leggings during the winter, tights and stockings are a stylish alternative. They can be paired with shorts and high socks and boots or even layered underneath a slit maxi dress with a turtleneck as pictured above. Ever wish you could mix pieces from spring and summer with winter? Now you can by simply wearing stockings or tights underneath a skirt or even some boyfriend jeans.
... And there you have it!
To go along with the last post from this series, hopefully you now have a better idea of some accessories to use to style your outfits this winter. The temperature is dropping and finals season is in full swing so don't forget to keep warm while you study hard. There is more to come from this series, so watch out for the next one!
Thanks so much for reading, see you later!
