The time we have all been waiting for has finally arrived...Fashion Week! This week FORM is here to update you on all things New York Fashion Week. With shows for brands like Calvin Klein to Alexander Wang, we are going to highlight some memorable recaps. This time around the first two looks are also inspired not only by the runway, but also streetwear–so look out for those! Keep reading to find out more, you won't want to miss it.
1. Simple & Sleek
Kendall Jenner rocks the runway and the streets. Although the two looks pictured above are pretty different, they are both simple and sleek. On left, Kendall is seen in a furry overcoat on top a baggy Louis Vuitton tee, high waisted denim-flare jeans and pointed leopard booties. On right, Kendall seems tailored with a sexy deep-open cream blouse and pants paired with a casual blazer and leopard tote. The best thing about these looks are that either can be worn in everyday life!
2. Pop of Color
Bella Hadid is another style icon on and off the runway. Both looks feature pops of color amidst a mostly dark or neutral outfit–something easy to achieve in our own closets. On left, Bella is wearing a royal blue turtleneck underneath a black knit sweater paired with black leather pants featuring pops of red and white. On right, Bella is strutting the streets with a black turtleneck underneath a bomber featuring pops of red, paired with denim cut-offs and fishnets. Obsessed.
3. Matching Sets
Matching sets have always been something intriguing, and on the runway they have a whole new meaning. On left, the black matching set resembles a sort of Victorian look with beautiful lace and scalloping detailing as well as detailing down the middle of the pants. On right, the dark lavender matching set mimics an athletic look almost like a hoodie and jogger pants. Both looks make a statement and really caught our attention this NYFW.
4. Trench Coats
Two words. Trench. Coats. These are everything this season and it truly shows on the runway. Khaki seems to be a hit as well in addition to the classic trench coat featuring buttons all the way down and some sort of belt hugging the waist. These trench coats add the perfect layer to any ensemble and add the length that just screams chic. Paired with any color, with any outfit–casual or fancy–trench coats are a must.
5. Fold-Off-The-Shoulder
NYFW is putting a spin on the classic off-the-shoulder tops by exaggerating one side more than the other–essentially "folding over" one's shoulder blade. This look has appeared over and over throughout the runway and we love it! Showing just the right amount of skin while also adding just the right amount of dimension, this trend is an amazing way to style an otherwise classic and simple outfit.
And there you have it!
We hope you enjoyed this NYFW recap and can try to incorporate some of the looks into your everyday wardrobe. Make sure to check back here for our next post in this series–London Fashion Week Recap, see you soon!
